Episode 8 Appendix: My everyday carries

Updated: Apr 20, 2020

This is the gear I use to create the Benefit of the Doud podcast (and other projects) every day. I record into a Shure 55SH Elvis mic and a Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD. I could just as easily use a Blue Yeti microphone, but I prefer the Shure.

Speaking of Shure, when I’m out and about, I use a Shure SM58 microphone along with a Zoom H5 recorder. When mixing at home, I use Audio Technica ATH-M40x headphones (the current model is the ATH-M50x) but when I’m out, I use the Plantronics Backbeat 500 Series headphones.

Also, for normal podcast listening I switch between two plantronics headsets – the Backbeat Fit 3100, and the Voyager 6200 UC.

For writing, I use a 3rd generation Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X1 or a 10.2" iPad (7th Generation) along with a Brydge Pro keyboard.  Other gear that rounds out my life include the LG V60, Kindle Paperwhite reader, Mobile Edge backpack and a Kershaw folding knife

Links for all that stuff is below. In some cases, where the gear I use isn’t available to buy online, I put in a close substitute.  Enjoy! Pleae note, these are Amazon Affiliate links. I may receive a commission on qualifying purchases.
